three stars
Three stars from MLB action on Saturday:
Adam Frazier: The Mississippi State product, who back in July got his first career walk-off hit, checked off his first inside-the-park home run in Pittsburgh’s 4-3 loss to St. Louis. Frazier hit a ball over the head of Cardinals center fielder Dexter Fowler, who crashed into the wall and injured himself on the play. Frazier, batting .283 with five homers in his second big league season, also had a double.
Mitch Moreland: The ex-State star drove in three runs in Boston’s 9-0 win against Tampa Bay. Moreland is third on the team in RBIs with 68. He also notched his 29th double, extending his career-high. He is batting .250 with 18 homers, which ranks fourth on the first-place Red Sox.
Tim Anderson: The former East Central Community College standout singled, tripled and homered for the Chicago White Sox, a performance overshadowed by teammate Jose Abreu’s cycle in the 13-1 win against San Francisco. Anderson, in his second MLB campaign, is batting .249 with 16 homers and four triples.
